Shayna is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Mississippi University for Women.
Originally from West Tennessee, Shayna returned home after completing her education to begin her career in speech pathology. She has a special interest in early language development, autism, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and she is passionate about using play-based therapy to support language growth in young children.
What drew Shayna to the field was the opportunity to provide meaningful, one-on-one support that helps individuals communicate more effectively in their everyday lives. She finds great joy in helping her patients find their own voice—whether through speech or AAC devices.
At West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Center, Shayna values the ability to build strong connections not only with her patients but also with their families, offering personalized support and guidance that extends beyond the therapy room.
Outside of work, Shayna is a proud pet mom to Lulu the cat and Gatsby the dog. She enjoys cheering on both Ole Miss and Mississippi State, attending concerts, and traveling with friends and family.
